In my lab experiments and research we are installing object caches to piggy-back existing routers. In these scenarios we are seeing a drastic reduction of routed packet traffic. The object caches route objects between each other using the point-to-point connections that the routers are also using to communicate. Can you provide more detail and/or references to your analysis?
