Genrad Enhances Integrated Manufacturing Solution
Secures Distribution Rights for Flying Prober Test System
WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 1998--GenRad, Inc. (NYSE:GEN - news) today announced that is has entered into a distribution and support agreement with S.E.I.C.A. S.r.L. The agreement entitles GenRad to distribute, service and support, under the brand name GR-Pilot, a fixture-less ''flying probe'' test system in the United States, Europe and Asia.
GR-Pilot was specifically designed for prototype testing in low volume/high mix production environments, and allows users to test prototypes and samples without the costly, time-consuming process of building new fixtures. U.S. Pricing for GR-Pilot begins at $185,000. Systems will be available for shipment in the second quarter of 1998.
