Dave: I was surprised that PLAT wasn't mentioned in the Barron's article. Your statement that it should receive a positive boost along with CPWR is valid. The fact that it was omitted could have something to do with Flip's rather 'cavalier' reputation with the press. Also, PLAT's acquisition spree has made it difficult to determine where their real interests are. Y2K is just one of many places they spend their time.

I also thought it interesting that Barron's was 'hyping' the services companies and casting doubt on the tools vendors. This makes me curious as to how the market will perceive companies like VIAS that, similar to PLAT, are tools and services suppliers. However, VIAS tends to license their toolset to the services suppliers (KEA for one). Interesting predicament.
