EZ-PnF TIP:

If you plan to use a 'word-processor' to view or maintain an ASCII data file. Be sure you save it as a TEXT or ASCII TEXT file format.
In some word processors, like WORD or WORDPAD, or WRITE, or WORD Pro this mans that you need to do a SAVE AS operation and then select TEXT or ASCII TEXT or DOS TEXT as the 'type' of file format to save the data into.

IF you just save the data file as type *.DOC or *.lwp or whatever is the word processor's default.. the file is converted into a binary file that EZ-PnF has no chance of reading.

If you are not sure if the data file you have is ASCII data, look at it with the Windows NOTEPAD program or the 'edit' program in DOS.
IF you see the data with NOTEPAD or 'edit' , like reading a book, then it is in an ASCII form.

Remeber, you can always QUIT or EXIT from a word processor without saving and the data will not be converted.
