About TDDDF -- Had a very full weekend and didn't get any research done on stocks. But here is the story as I remember it from last year. The big run up to the high 40's last year was due to speculation that INTC was going to buy TDDDF. When that proved not true, the stock came crashing back to reality. My guess is that folks haven't taken another look much since then. After seeing it drop, it came onto my radar screen. Earnings reported Feb 10 confirmed that it is making money and the prospects are good.
I think that TDDDF, like CREAF, is given some discount for being a foreign company. They also play in the "value" end of the 2D/3D graphics accelerators for their mass market product and not the highest performance end like TDFX. Intel just announced a chip for that value end of the market which has good performance (though their performance on the benchmark suite incredibly overstated its real world performance see tomshardware.com ). TDDDF also has a professional level chip that is doing well.
I, too, see a good value in this basic story, but need to read a bit more to flesh things out. I have looked carefully at the 3D graphics market ever since hearing that id Software (Doom, Quake) is going to release a game this xmas which requires the user to have a 3D board. That is likely to push 3D boards to a much larger audience, as id can play standard setter.
Opinions from the others on this board? It seems we have many lurkers. Don't be afraid to speak up.
