I think there is another certainty in the markets - they MUST screw up the majority of participants. I should say, *active* participants - because most LTBH-rs will probably do well… if they’re young enough to sit out long bear phases... Any truly consistent winning angle would endanger the survival of the markets - as those in possession of that effective method would take out great amounts of money and mess up the market. (God help us if there were many people as smart as the late Jim Simons of the Renaissance Funds)

Smaller but consistent methods - like what you’re using, Bob - with patience, lead to success. The same can be said about longer term trend following methods. The last category is good, but tough - few people are able to do it consistently.
