Jock, Actually, your basic challenge should have generated more LSI Thread interest.. The winning Slinky Lions should have an opportunity to prove it wasn't just a fluke...and we Mangy Bears could use a chance to get a win... Let's see, the proposed challenge was: " Here's the contest. Equal weighting will be given to each of the following categories with the results ranked in numerical order. On the close of the market on Monday March 1 1999 ( more than a year from now, the four questions are: What will LSI's stock price be? What will be the announced earnings for '98? What will be the analysts' estimated earnings for 1999? What will be the analyst's anticipated earnings for 2000? The estimates used will be from the March 1 edition of Zacks." The problem I have with the challenge is trying to guess what the devil the analysts will be guessing out then... Have no way of figgering out what they are saying NOW, let alone what they WILL be saying under different conditions. Many of us react, STRONGLY, when a Kurlak downgrades an MU as he did in Dec, with MU at it's low price,... at which point several of us jumped aboard for a nice ride. But how does one project what nutty calls the analysts will be making a year out?... BTW, Shane, and others, have layed out a pretty good earnings scenario for LSI several years out.. Duane |
