Addition of Former Apple Computer Vice President of Global Supply Base Management Demonstrates Brocade's Ongoing Preparation for Rapid Growth
Fibre Channel industry leader Brocade Communications Systems Inc. Monday announced the appointment of Victor Rinkle to the position of vice president of Operations. Rinkle reports directly to Bruce Bergman, Brocade's president and chief executive officer. Rinkle brings to Brocade over 20 years experience in high volume manufacturing, encompassing the full scope of the computer industry including semiconductor, disk drive and computer companies. At Brocade, his responsibilities include procurement, complete order fulfillment, manufacturing engineering and management, capacity and materials planning, and quality assurance. "Brocade has experienced incredible growth in the past year, having recently shipped our 1,000th SilkWorm Fibre Channel switch," said Bergman. "Vic's background in growing and managing a multi-billion dollar company's operations will greatly benefit Brocade as we increase our customer base, expand our product line and greatly amplify our production capacity in 1998." For the past 14 years, Rinkle worked for Apple Computer, where he most recently held the position of vice president of Global Supply Base Management. Previously, he held a variety of senior positions in procurement, planning and plant management, including director of Materials at Conner Peripherals, and vice president of Materials at Micropolis Corp.
