[Information is great but it's Bill Bonner's Money Machine]

When one reads the books by James Dale Davidson and Lord Rees-Mogg, one gets the impression that they are thoughtful historians and analysts.

But, their newsletter publishing arm is another story. Every time I go to retrieve my mail from my post office box, it's as if there are a dozen hyperactive used car salesmen in my P.O. box. I'm referring of course, to all the junk mail from NTU, Strategic Investment, and other Davidson affiliated businesses.

And, their advertising material is easy to spot, because it's as if every piece is yelling "Buy Now!" at you. They are not subtle, and use typographic gimmicks like underlined text or BOLD TEXT TO TELL YOU VITAL INFORMATION. Come on guys -- those techniques were probably in vogue when Eisenhower was in office. The ads treat their target audience like they are idiots. Businesses should realize that if they insult the intelligence of potential customers, they will not get much business.
