Trump doesn't have the guts to wage the economic equivalent of trench warfare.
First of all, I voted for Trump and would gladly do so again. I support the vast majority of his agenda. And my view of the current state of the Democrat Party is that of a putrid garbage dump.
That being said, IMO Trump is fucking up, big time, with his idiotic tariff policies. Swinging his tariff threats around, willy nilly, like a sledgehammer, 10% here, 25% there, exemptions here, delays there, with little thought to realistic economic consequences.
Manufacturing and production in general is not real estate, although he's treating it as such with these economically destructive tariffs. Strong economies are built on rock, not quicksand, with companies investing in the future based upon expectations of stable business environments, not the tariff du jour.
If Trump continues to pursue these kind of destructive trade policies, his golden future is going to melt away like butter in a hot frying pan. The economy and inflation are #1 issues with voters and if he fucks up there, all the good he's doing won't matter.. |
