Wow, that's a great vintage timepiece you have there. I saw that link last month but kind of forgot you were a vintage Omega enthusiast so shame on me! :-) Will question you further privately, hahaha... The thing with factory repair that old is few manufactures will even perform or even guarantee it. And guess Omega does if you're friend already sent off the same watch. -gulp- Patek will, but after a certain year Rolex will not, for example. Then you get into their doing things you never asked for like dial replacements, polishing, etc. Trust me, I've listened to many horror stories about this with family heirlooms.

Definitely not thrilled about the list price of the modern but respect its homage to lineage. Also definitely a handsome modern dress watch like the vintage. Unsure production numbers of Olympic rings versus none but always preferred none. Those rings just distract from looking at the dial which is almost always handsome on an Omega, imo.

I've an Olympic Omega as well but not as fancy as yours. 2006 Turin Speedmaster no rings, automatic with lacquer white dial with red Omega and red letter symbol. No pictures handy but will find, and likely still a great value watch used. Got for a song from a Berkeley professor no less, lol, but maybe 18 months in on regular rotation something broke and been in a drawer since. :-) Like yours and the modern remake it had a fancier case design, think mine was designated under the De Ville line. fwiw.
