How does the US abandoning the West and its collaborative values in favor of the amoral dog-eat-dog players protect the US?

The US pulling back from endless overseas conflicts, like the one in Ukraine, doesn’t mean abandoning the West or its values. This is about prioritizing survival and stability over ideological crusades.

The world’s always been a brutal place; pretending otherwise just wastes blood and treasure. By stepping away from the role of global cop, the US could focus on its own security, avoid getting dragged into every regional slugfest, and let players like Russia and China overextend themselves instead.

Collaboration’s great until it’s a one-way ticket to forever wars—sometimes you’ve got to let the dogs fight it out and not jump into the pit. That’s not amorality; it’s realism. The US stays safer by not bleeding out for every cause someone else calls noble.
