30-Day Progressive Rock Song Challenge continued... 12/30

Day 12: A song from your preteen years

Today, my choice is the Moody Blues – Nights in White Satin.

This song is one I have loved since I was a kid—maybe because it was some of the first progressive rock music I ever heard. Days of Future Passed, and Nights in White Satin in particular, is a masterpiece.

I looked around for a live version featuring the original members and one with Mike Pinder playing the Mellotron on stage. It's amazing the sound he got out of that thing! Unfortunately this is a shorter version of the song and doesn't include the big orchestral finish that the original recording had.

If you’d like to join the challenge, feel free to post your song choices! I’ve been taking it one day at a time, but that’s not a requirement—you can share your picks for any category at any time. This thread is all about discovering new music!

Thanks to Cathy at Micqu.org for sharing this and allowing me to use it here. You can check out the original challenge at: Micqu.org
