04:30 PM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Intel(INTC) said late Wednesday its board has appointed Lip-Bu Tan as chief executive officer, effective March 18.

Tan succeeds interim co-CEOs David Zinsner and Michelle Johnston Holthaus, the company said, adding Tan will also rejoin Intel's(INTC) board after stepping down from the board in August.

Tan was formerly CEO of Cadence Design Systems (CDNS) from 2009 to 2021, Intel(INTC) said.

Intel (INTC) shares were rising nearly 13% in recent after-hours activity.
