Maui Police Chief John Pelletier has come under fire after being sued for his alleged involvement in a 2018 cover-up related to a gang rape involving Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Pelletier is a well-known name after his role in leading the response to the 2022 wildfire that devastated Maui Island and the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting that left 60 people dead.
