Ok, but......

Venmo does instant person to person money transfers.

If the world's banks were to replace SWIFT with a new more efficient transfer system, do you think they would all adopt a privately developed (and largely mined) crypto, or should all the world's banks just spend a $10 million and develop the same thing as XRP, and the new same thing would not be largely pre-mined, and the banks would own the technology and the native tokens?

Outsourcing something as significant as a SWIFT replacement is a major deal. I doubt banks will make themselves dependent on an external privately created cash transfer system which is (what, 80%+???) owned by the XRP original developers.

Do it yourself banks!
