It takes a lot to offend a Canadian. The U.S. has finally crossed that line.

It’s not just President Donald Trump’s tariffs on Canadian products that are angering them. It’s his repeated calls for Canada to become the “51st state,” and his name-calling of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as “Governor,” and perhaps his description of Canada as “one of the nastiest countries to deal with.”

Canadians are vowing to spend their Canadian dollars at home, and are sharing tips on social media about how to boycott U.S. brands and companies. There are even apps for that.

Take O SCANada, an app developed by Calgary resident Ryan Checora and his mother, Cathy, in response to the emerging trade war. “We found that the question ‘Is it Canadian?’ rarely has a straightforward answer—unless you’re talking about maple syrup!” he said.
