Let me put it this way...
Let's say there was another web site like this one, in every way the same, except that this other site (TOS, for short) invited company execs to participate in their respective message forums with comp accounts. And let's say SI continued to not give company execs free accounts. Finally, let's say TOS had several execs, like me, who would take that site up on their offer.
Fees and all else being the same, which site would you want a membership at?
No need to answer--you'd choose TOS rather than the less cleverly run SI. (If not, then you're kidding yourself and not being objective.)
Perhaps since there is not competition doing this SI feels they don't need to do it either (a poor business decision--it's better to do something first and set the trend, than to wait for a competitor to do it and force you to be the copycat). Now then, if I were king here, I'd ***jump*** at the chance to give company execs free accounts, and even ***advertise*** that fact, which is a clear advantage and benefit to paying members.
This is so blatantly obvious to me I'm stunned that there are people here who don't get it.
Whomever runs this board is missing an opportunity to run it better, at basically no further cost to them. It's that simple. And who's being penalized by this oversight? The members here. No one else.
