Very thorough. "Association not equaling causation" is a common criticism about many of the warnings concerning drugs, supplements and foods we get from health influencers.

My father died at 76 in 1991 with stage 2 Alzheimer's (from a pulmonary embolism). Being 73 I've taken an interest in the topic of cognitive decline for quite a few years.

These medications can contribute to cognitive side effects, including an increased dementia risk with long-term use, as noted in studies like the 2015 JAMA Internal Medicine study (Gray et al.). Oxybutynin is particularly high-risk. Alternatives like beta-3 agonists (e.g., mirabegron/Myrbetriq) or behavioral therapies (e.g., bladder training) may be safer options if cognitive risks are a concern.

I was surprised that OAB drugs could be involved.
