Doug, I would assume results and related charges would be consolidated in the Q1 earnings if the acquisition is completed on schedule. Vishay has not yet filed anything with the SEC that might have details related to the purchase. There was a Form SC-13G filed 02/12/98 showing that Seligman & Co. now hold 2.9M or 5.2% of voting shares.

Siliconix reported good results for Q4, but mentions risk factors involving Asia, and also that Q1 is usually their weakest:

The market value of TEMIC's 80.4% interest in Siliconix is $336M (at $42/share SILI, p/e=13). Assuming that represents fair value for Siliconix, they're risking an investment of only $164M for the rest of TEMIC.
I have no information on how much this remainder of TEMIC is making or losing, but since they were already restructuring even before the deal, at least some of that business must not have been competitive. So from my standpoint the net effect on Vishay's results is still a big question mark.
