Randy, it's gonna be real tough to figure out what is really going on in the auction. IMO, there is a lot of faking, bluffing, jockeying, stalling etc, that will happen for a long time. The numbers we're seeing now are probably meaningless.

Based purely on the current numbers (thru round 7, which ended before noon today) here's a quick wrap up:

WinStar is leading in five markets; Columbus, OH, NY (B-Block), Norfolk, VA, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco.

Teligent is doing a lot of bidding, but they're only bidding on B-Block licenses.

WNP is still leading in the most large markets including Atl, Bos, Chic, Cinn, Det, Hous, Miami, and many more.

NextBand (Craig McCaw) still seems to be concentrating on the West Coast; leading in LA, Portland, Sacra, San Diego, and Seattle. Also Chi B, Phil B, and Pho B.

BCK (Mario) leading in Reno, Vegas, Albuq, Santa Fe, and Orlando.

PCTV, one of the largest depositors, bidding only on B-Block.

The largest markets and price per pop;
NYC $3.78, LA 2.48, Chic 2.25, San Fran 3.19, Denver 4.82, Phoenix 3.89, Vegas 3.35. Yes, that's right, Vegas is going for more than LA, Chicago, and San Fran. Vegas is also the most heavily active market.
