at 1:26:30 when the tide is dropping and the swell really starts to fill in, this poor soul suddenly realizes why the best in the world have been riding the shoulder rather than taking off deep and paying a very steep price. Of course, all these guys are wearing flotation vests now because the beat downs can easily knock you unconscious and keep you under for two, even three waves...Flotation vests invented by Shane Dorian have revolutionized big wave surfing. Truly each time they drop in on one of these monsters it is a life threatening event.
