Lower low for the SOX today. The volatility indexes are not as high as when I believed the bottom was forming. This could be a retest leading to a rebound to begin in April. Most market bottoms are not V bottoms.

Unless you are hiding under a rock then you already know that the inflation data was bad today and consumer sentiment is awful. Economic uncertainty concerning policies coming out of Washington is fanning the flames of inflation expectations further.

On top of that tariff concerns are making investors question the validity of their investments within the semiconductor and semi-equipment area. Are tariffs going to raise the price of semiconductors themselves? Almost certainly. This at a time when Arizona based MCHP is attempting to sell a Fab in Arizona. Why build in America if you cannot sell products you are making in the United States. Sales of everything but basic consumer staples fall in a recession.

Then top that off with concerns about the Chips Act being shelved and you get WOLF. WOLF has lost almost half its value today as investors have decided that they must be losing Chips Act funding. Considering the company's huge debt load WOLF is at risk of going bankrupt. That's what those selling today are thinking anyway. Book value for WOLF is 2.69 per share.
