Carol, thank you for the Deep Thought reference. Apparently, I stumbled across an already existing Thought...haha.
Anyway, this thread is a nice place to sit back and ruminate on life's lessons, both good and not-so-good (don't like the term bad, as it implies there is nothing to be learned from the lesson). ___________________________________
I was in Sam's Wholesale Saturday, and a bird accidentally flew in the door while I was shopping. The poor thing flew around and around, frantically trying to find a way out.
I found myself obsessed with that bird regaining its freedom. Unfortunately, I could not find anyone else who shared my burden...not the manager, not the employees, no one.
After spending a lengthy period of time attempting to get the cooperation needed to enact a solution (and stating how that bird probably had young of its own to look after), I was promised an overhead window would be opened and that the bird would be watched until it found the window.
I left somewhat despondent over the apparent lack of compassion our society feels toward the less fortunate. They seem to yell, "But it doesn't affect me so I don't care."
This is sad and I would like to contribute to making people care again... ___________________________________
Every fear you've had that never was realized... ---was realized by someone less fortunate than you.
Every worry you've had that didn't manifest itself... ---became a reality for someone less fortunate than you.
Every disease you've never had... ---someone else suffered from.
Every loved one you haven't lost... ---someone else will never see again.
Every day you wake up to see the sun, and enjoy another day... ---someone else did not.
Appreciate life, appreciate family, appreciate friends...
Appreciate now.

I hope this was not depressing. It is meant to remind us that most of us are very fortunate, and that many people would love to have some of our so-called problems.
I will try to be more uplifting next post.
