Similar experience several years ago. Doctor took a glance, "not cancer", move on. That went on for a few years with the tiny spot eventually becoming dime size. Moved to a different state and new doctor strongly recommended a biopsy, which I did. Yep... it was cancer, which was quickly and easily dealt with. No problems. Fast forward to NOW, a tiny red spot is developing at the edge of the small white area of the old one. I'm seeing a dermatologist regularly and we're "keeping an eye on it" for now. It's barely bigger than a pin head, but it's definitely there!

Don't mess too long with it, my advice.
