I see Eve more as complementary to Adam than as his opposite.

Also interesting is she is the only one of the 4 speakers in Genesis 2 and 3 to use the word "fruit" about the forbidden tree. Seems to indicate the female's typical interest in details. Whereas God, Adam and the serpent use the expression "eat of the tree" indicating focus on the bigger picture, a typical male trait.
