John,

Battlezone is different from M1 tank platoon II in that it combines both strategy and first person shooter genres, similar to but much more extensive and IMO, better, than 3DO's Uprising. In this game, you can eject out of your vehicle, snipe an opponent pilot and take his ship. You can run around, act as a field general, and all sorts of things. You HAVE to try out the demo (though it's 20 MG!) if you like this sort of thing.

From what I understand about M1, that is more of a tank simulator, with the ability to play different campaigns in past wars as well as a mission editor. ( BTW, M1 looks VERY cool. I've seen some screenshots, and it's realism is unmatched!)

The games are very similar in certain respects and I think they will both be amazing games. But ultimately, I think that BZ will have broader game player appeal, given it's purported 50/50 strategy/FPS bent.

I refer you to:

as probably all you would like to know on Battlezone. Go to the messageboard. The volume of posts increases all of the time,
a good sign that momentum is building for this game. It should be released on or around March 20th.
