We're certainly filling the atmosphere faster than it's leaking out and sinking into oceanic sediment and dissolved CO2 in deep ocean circulation after Gulf stream sinkage.

My guess remains that people will continue to find ways to avoid buying oil and sheik yamani will finally be proved right. He pointed out that the stone age didn't end for lack of stones. He said the oil age won't end for lack of oil. Having spent years trying to sell the stuff and reduce air pollution I know that people really dislike buying it. It's not like chocolate and three star Michelin restaurant food that people like to buy. No oil is how much they want.

Photovoltaics are getting good. Batteries too.

280ppm to 430ppm has been a stupendously vast effort since the 19th century, with a lot of that oil produced at low cost and burned in Yank tanks. Now people have little fuel sipping cars ... Normal humans, though Americans still go for dirty great huge SUVs and trucks.

People like electric cars. They spend huge amounts of time in free cyberspace. Burning fuel isn't part of happiness.
