The protests doubling this weekend may start some things in motion. DJT will put Musk out to pasture because his time wasn't going to be long anyway. He can't last past June without Senate confirmation, so he's been set up as a lightning rod.

If Musk is sacked, a good chunk of the protesters may be satisfied. I don't see another 12-senators crossing over to give a 66-vote override of a veto on legislation that would reduce the executive power to change tariff rates on a whim.

Approval ratings that start with a low 3 or a high 2 could change that for DJT and the 66-votes needed.

In the meantime, the mid-term cycle low we would have likely been looking at in mid-2026 may have been brought forward by a year.

We are all living in interesting times.
