I'm not sure your analysis makes sense. The only thing the religious right controls is the meaningless Platform, which Dole and Kemp ignore. And what is Dole, if not a pre-Reagan Republican? Only the smarmy Ralph Reed believes that Dole and the Party is controlled by conservative christians. Even "pro-life" Kemp doesn't believe it, witness his running from the abortion issue in his debate with Al Gore. The problem isn't control of the Party. Your Gypsy Moths ARE in control of the Party. The problem is that you offered up candidates who have all the appeal of a warm glass of salt water. Who you going to run in 2000?
