What is an inalienable right?.
My sisters and I, when we wondered aloud why other kids had dogs and we didn't, got a two-layered answer. The first was a categoric Nuh-uh. And in our house, taht stuck.
Layer two, served up once our compliance was secured, was physiological. Papa was dreadfully allergic to dogs and cats. Turns out I am too. So - I figure there's tradition here. Inalienable rights?! Luck o'the genetic draw; snake eyes. So she'll take an unadorned No for an answer, and she'll like it.
