SVIX is holding short May and April VIX futures, mostly May - and a position of long VIX, plus $800 mil in “cash and other”. It seems, they’re not simply short VIX, there is a more complicated dynamic playing.

Hopefully they survive this juncture - and trade happily ever after.

Btw, this current decline is trying to win the worst X number of days since the start of the year competition :)

And this - today's closing VIX level is in the worst 1%. But, market returns over the following years were above average.
