Freeus, here's something I do know about: the round 9 LDMA bids where the good guys lead:
Los Angeles A $35.0 million
New York B $ 4.9 million
San Francisco A $22.4 million
Philadelphia B $ 2.2 million
Detroit B $ 1.4 million
Boston B $ 1.0 million

It ain't over until it's over but at least we can see that Nextband is playing ball. What it all means to NXTL and how soon is anybody's guess at this point. And what % of Nextband does NXTL have? At a minimum we know that McCaw is attacking the wireless biz on every conceivable front. Obviously he intends to preside over more than just a niche business. It wouldn't surprise me if at some distant future date he put all the parts together in one megacompany: All the Next-es plus Teledisic plus who knows what all. That's a deal that I could get behind instead of British Tele-whomever or T. Why? Explosive future growth in every McCaw venture.
Ten years from now investment writers will be writing $torie$ about how much money the ground floor inve$tor$ in NXTL made. It will be a$tronomical for tho$e who have the vi$ion to $tay the cour$e. Most won't and will tell their grandkids about the big one that grandpa let get away.
