Well, anything is possible.

My view is - it’s worth using a trend following approach. If we get a 2022 - but 5 times larger - good luck looking for breakouts. But, following trend may still work well.

Look at the period between the 1966 top and the eventual 1983 breakout. Using a simple trend following system could allow one to make money (edit - without going broke, crazy or depressed). Rotate into bonds / cash when out of stocks. Also, exposure to uptrending sectors, if any available.
