Re: Why Ask Why?

What I'm more interested in is why LGND opens up strong and then fades early? I've noticed this for a couple of days now.

It may be range-bound trading, a.k.a. regression to the mean. In this case, the "mean" (no lectures from Buffetologist Statisticians, please) is possibly the apex of the triangle I discussed (14 5/8).

Other recent days have seen exactly the opposite phenomenon: weak openings followed by late day strength. There is an intensifying battle between the bulls and the bears in LGND. Unlike this thread, the battle is being waged with money rather than -- ahem -- rapier wit. ;-)

Once the triangle is complete, a move below 14 or above 16 -- especially if the move is sudden and accompanied by good volume -- may continue for a great distance in price and time. Watch the action around 15 1/4 (good resistance) for hints as to whether LGND can blitz 16.

BTW, the May 12.5 calls are interestingly priced here.

Pý (waiting for Judgement Day)
