Travel post for a change....

Just came back from leading a school spring break trip to Paris with a dozen students and parents. This was a new trip to familiar territory. The new stuff was chaperoning a school group instead of just wandering around as a single or couple like I have for decades. Tough not to stop and stick my nose in anything interesting because the group is moving on. Eating tour group menus is also less than exciting when there is so much great food there.

OTOH, we saw enough cool new stuff to make it worthwhile for me. On my list now:

Ste. Chappelle near Notre Dame
The Apollon gallery at the Louvre
Palais Garnier Opera House
Galeries Lafayette department store
The Bousquet de Salle de Bal in the Versailles gardens (from "A Little Chaos")
The famous tennis court where the French Revolution really began with (no surprise) the Tennis Court Oath
Vaux le Vicomte chateau
Fontainebleau
Pere Lachaise cemetery

All highly recommended for future visits. Still aiming for the Musee D'Orsay eventually too.
