Milton Friedman and others used to run a "shadow federal reserve"--I wonder what ever became of that. If there has been any protest on the editorial pages of the Wall Street Journal of these 11% M3 rates, I must have missed it. Used to be some monetarist was ready to pounce on the Fed every week.
