Nightnoise combined traditional Irish music, classical elements, and ambient sound into something really unique. The group came together in the 1980s and created music that was emotional, thoughtful, and deeply calming. One for the Lad is one of my favorite tracks from their album Something of Time. It has a warm, reflective feeling—like a quiet farewell or a memory you didn’t realize you missed. I love the way the song gently slows and fades out at the end making it a perfect way to close out the album. If you’ve never heard Nightnoise before, this is a great place to start.
