Agree with the above - but you “won't want to” for a reason. The problem is - once in a while, those “bargains” just keep becoming better and better :)

Most of the time, those corrections reverse and markets go to new highs. But sometimes, they go into serious Bear phases.

Since I’m not in a mood to be sitting out any Big Bears, it’s preferable to see more signs that the bottom is in - like, indices trading above their 200dma’s, 8 and 12 month ma’s; see nice constructive chart formations, dropping VIX…. I had a nice experience buying Low Volatility ETF’s around Christmas time in 2018. 2019 turned out to be a good year for LowVol. Unfortunately, I don’t have any studies in this regard, but will check again.
