But USA of today is very unlike USA of that time. We have moved away from menial back breaking manufacturing jobs to higher paying service jobs. Our service surpluses are not being counted by the stupid one. That USA needed slavery for farming. It was not a technologically leading nation. We are the best country in the world right now. I hope you are not comparing the two.
