Hello, Joe.

>aC or Baoho do you know if OAKT is involved in DVD-RAM?< Oak has a DVD-ram controller product but so far no OEM deals have been announced. I belive that is the major reason that the Oak stock has been doing so poorly.

I personally belive that DVD drive will take off in a big way in the second half. So it will be extremely important for Oak to get some major DVD design wins in Q1 or at the latest Q2. So far I have not heard any other independent companies to have released DVD-ram drive controllers (Toshiba has been making its own drive controllers since CD ROM). If oak's DVD controller is competent, it is difficult for me to imagine that Oak is totally left out for the DVD drive business unless its marketing screws up in a major way, which is of course possible.

DVD drive will not replace hard drives and the like for it is simply too slow. But I think the market for DVD drive will be huge because it will be used in both new PCs and existing PCs as CD ROM replacement.

Oakt is the worst performer among my stock holdings and to say the least, I am very anxious to see some positive developments with Oak. In the last couple of days, OAKT has managed to inch up a little in fairly heavy volumes. I think that Oakt could be in a upward trend if the general stock market cooperates.

Regards,
Baoho
