Tenchu's Thoughts - I WANT TRUMP TO FAIL
Rush Wanted Obama to Fail
I still remember when Rush Limbaugh was asked by Sean Hannity, "Do you want Obama to succeed?" In response, Rush said point-blank, "No, I want him to FAIL."
'I hope he fails' (The Guardian, February 2009)
This, of course, drew heavy criticism from both the mainstream media as well as Obama himself. They accused Rush of being a traitor to his own nation. Wishing for Obama to fail was like wishing for America to fail.
Also keep in mind that Rush said this in the midst of the financial crisis. People were losing their jobs and their homes. The entire nation was gripped in the aftermath of the financial meltdown, where the big banks screwed up big time, and average Americans suffered as a result. Wishing for the president to fail at a time like this seemed very insensitive to what average Americans needed at the time.
Of course, that wasn't Rush's first rodeo, nor would it be his last. He justified his statement by saying that Obama's mission is contrary to the core values of American society. He believed Obama's mission was to "restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation."
Keep those words in mind. They will become important later on.
The War on Terrorism: "Criticism is patriotic"
Going back even further, we have Bush's war on terrorism. This was initially a bipartisan war, but it quickly became a quagmire as Bush's invasion of Iraq turned into a political millstone.
Still, Democrats found themselves in an awkward position, as the war they once approved of was becoming unpopular. John F'n Kerry was infamous for saying, "I voted for the war before I voted against it."
But one thing that the Democrats proclaimed was that "Criticism is patriotic." In other words, it's our duty as Americans to stand up for what we believe in and criticize the government whenever it goes astray. This forms the very ideological foundation upon which this country was born, as the Declaration of Independence described in clear detail.
And this forms the ideological foundation for our current two-party system of politics, where one side is responsible for calling out the faults and the failures of the other side.
The Orange Monarch
Fast-forward to today, where we now have Trump 2.0 in charge, a.k.a. the Orange Monarch.
Trump immediately sets out on his agenda, and the results are as predictable as Trump is unpredictable. The economy is shrinking, our standing in the world has fallen, and Trump is desperately trying to consolidate power.
In this crazy-ass situation, we have the MAGA cultists who seem to think that everyone MUST root for Trump, or else they would be rooting against America by default.
That's why we have cultists like Bonefish who accuse the opposition of "wanting to see 2008 all over again." He, along with his fellow MAGA cultists, HATES seeing people gloat over Trump's failures. Plus he thinks wishing for Trump to fail means wishing for average Americans to suffer.
Yes, I Want Trump to Fail
However, this is EXACTLY what I want to see.
I WANT TRUMP TO FAIL.
He is trying to change this country into a fascist state that favors white nativists and kiss-ass "yes men" over immigrants and "foreigners."
He is trying to control the American economy and transform it from a service-based model into a manufacturing-based model, all under the fantasy that Americans will all becomes rich rich rich once that happens.
He is mocking the rule of law and giving his own cronies passes for blatant corruption and unbelievable negligence.
He is silencing his critics with kidnappings, renditions to foreign gulags, SLAP lawsuits, and an Attorney General who acts like an Alpha Bitch.
He is forcing the Q Continuum upon our public health facilities. As a result, he is Making Measles Great Again. He is letting bird flu run amok. He will make us ill-prepared for any future pandemic that hits our homeland, from something as severe as COVID to smaller-scale viruses like Zika or swine flu.
And he is aiding and abetting all of our foreign adversaries from RuZZia to China to North Korea.
Based on his backwards, anti-American agenda, ANY failure by Trump is a victory for America.
That's why I want Trump to fail.
And anyone who loves America and what it used to stand for, including freedom, individual liberty, the rule of law, and equal opportunity, will hope and pray that Trump fails miserably.
