Hmmm I design power systems. It's way too early to call out what actually happened. California right this minute is running on 96% renewables. Mostly solar PV with a mix of wind and a small amount of hydro: caiso.com Tomorrow over 100% of generation in California will be renewables for about seven hours. Excess going into storage for the evening peak. Did you take any Electrical Engineering in college?
