HI Karl,
Speaking of PR,Nightly Business Report showcased the head of the federal reserve system speaking on the y2k problem. He came closer to anyone in the national media to admitting that the crisis is real.
He said the fed has been working on the problem for several years and
expected to be y2k compliant by June 98. He said they were closely
monitoring all US financial institutions and expected to begin
compatibility testing this year. He was not optimistic that all US
financial institutions would be compliant in time and that the fed
would probably have to dump some firms. He was pessimistic about
Europe and very concerned about Asia. He estimated the fed's total
costs approaching 100 million dollars.
Maybe, people will start to get the message.
Yours in TAVA.
