Canadian tax payers footed the 38.5 billion for the pipeline. Suncor ,CNQ etc payed zilch and benefit from a reduction of the discounted price they receive from the US for each barrel of oil. 20$ discount now 10$
Big oil and Alberta in general are so appreciative of this windfall that they backed the opposition party that is closely tied to Trump and now are openly anti Canadian and backing Canadian separation .
