Managing the regulatory process is perhaps the most important responsibility for senior management in pharma companies, big and small. Whether they screwed something up or misread the FDA intentions and guidance or pissed off one of the regulators…..whatever. This is a failure of senior management. Whether this is a stunning surprise or the result of an egregious mistake it is clearly a huge failure to understand and carefully manage the regulatory process. Unforgivable in my view.
