I like to give an update here. I just received the satellite package and DTN Chameleon software. First let me say I was a Beta site for DBC Signal (Windows Ver. and various other recognized programs) and used Signal for 2-3 years. Then switched to BMI. I trade options, and Signal does not have good real time Bid Ask on options UNLESS they trade over 100 contracts per day. Options not traded at all may not get updated for days !! Prior to the buyout of BMI by DBC, BMI quotes came in unbundled and no 100 contract loop. Now BMI is about the same, ***BUT** multi computer users may still want to pick BMI over SIG (catch my drift ???). I now have been using BMI for about 2 years. Anyway,.. DTN ... I'm running BMI and DTN side by side (2 separate machines) AND side by side on the same machine. **"DTN WINS"** While the trades are only a second ahead of BMI, Bid Ask on the options are being updated real time while the option is not traded. **(big plus)** Also the news (Free News) on BMI and Signal is IMO poor. I've also tested at this point DTN with LiveWire = AOK. (running 8.03c with the new LW security block. I have TradeStation [anyone want to buy a used security block ? :) :) ] I'm hoping WOW Day Trader is a little easier to use (TS, while good graphics, the maintenance is very high and time consuming (IMO). Another point , DTN has nowhere near the number of outside tics as BMI. I really don't care for the Chameleon software too much. It works.., the news windows are good but the quote screen needs work. Symbol input is too cumbersome, no chaining (autolist) of option symbols. IMO if your going real time you should invest in a good third party charting program with the bells and whistles you prefer. I recommend LiveWire by Cablesoft. Very easy to use, good set of indicators comes with the package and even has a decent database scanner, about 5-600?, well worth it and a good place to get started. I also asked for a little help in installing the dish. Support was right there, and "VERY" Polite and Helpful - (5 Star). Product was sent out UPS ground, I received it in 2 days (I may have gotten a little lucky there).
Bottom line : At 1/2 the cost of BMI and Signal, DTN is now my first pick. The BMI box is going back in the AM. With the cost savings, the pay for news selective options are now affordable. Multi computer users will also like DTN :)
