This R level upon reaching ~56% above the 36 month ma is somewhat arbitrary. Gold reversed from that point a couple of times - but, on occasion, the rally went way, way higher. I think, all they accomplish is to tell us that Gold is in overbought territory. Yeah, we know - it’s called Bull market.

This is not to say that there is no need to watch the down side.

As far as buy signals - we should be able to do better than to base it on a breakout from below the 36 month ma.
