One of the worst periods in the history of the US stock market.

If you bought the top in 1965 - it would take you through most of the great Bull market from 1982 until 2000 just to get back your money plus interest and treasury bond returns, when *adjusted for inflation*.

It was a long series of raging Bulls and brutal Bears - the Dow kept rallying up and hitting at the ~1000 area - only to turn down into a terrible decline.

What most people didn’t realize at the time is that it was a double whammy - during that period, inflation annihilated almost 3/4 of the purchasing value of the Dollar.
