Have we discussed "variable tint" yet?

Yes. I highlighted that in post 973.

From the article that dimtint shared with us.
The sort of weather where a transparent roof is nice at times, but every so often, you’d be wishing for a shade. In an effort to add a bit of flexibility, Chevrolet is offering an electrochromic hardtop for the Corvette coupe, with a variable-tint glass element for natural light, but not too much natural light.

Let's hope that's it SPD, or a stacked SPD/PDLC combination that was shown in the Mercedes Vision V Concept in Shanghai. But I'm betting it will be an improved SPD film similar to what's used in the Purosangue. There really is no need for the Mercedes combination film since it was for use in the side windows for projection etc.

Since the 2026 Vette is hitting showrooms later this year, let's hope we'll get the details sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed.
